Alhaji Umar Babagoro Muazu was born in Gombe, in Gombe State on 14^th May, 1947. His father, Alhaji Muazu was born in Dukku. He rose through the Ranks of Gombe Native Authority to become the Ubandoma of Gombe. Babagoro Muazu attended various schools and worked in various places holding both Public Service and Political Appointments as follows:

          i.            He now spends most of his leisure time reading Political Literature and watching Football games.

 

Alhaji Umar Babagoro Muazu is a devout Muslim. He is married to Hajiya Salamatu, daughter of Alhaji Umaru Maiguwa, a renowned Mechanical Engineer at Gombe Native Authority Garage in Gombe. He is blessed with seven children, six boys and a girl.
